Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] May 19 (ANI): India having voted Sunday during the last stage of the elections in Lok Sabha, the Bollywood actor, Farhan Akhtar, was overwhelmingly controlled after appealing to voters in Bhopal for them to vote against Pragya Thakur of the BJP.
Here is the problem: the parliamentary constituency already voted in the sixth round of voting on May 12, which means that Farhan is a little too late in his political appeal.
"Dear electorate #SayNoToPragya #SayNoToGodse #RememberTheMahatma #ChooseLoveNotHate," the actor tweeted.
Pragya Thakur had recently been controversial by the meditation of Mahatma Gandhi, a patriot. She was forced to reduce her statement and apologize for the remark after her party, the BJP, disagreed and distanced themselves from the comment. Even Prime Minister Modi had stated that he could never forgive Thakur what she had said.
Twitter users with mowed eyes would not have been able to spare the actor because of his misstep. Not only did they quickly report the delay, but they also criticized the actor for bringing up the Bhopal gas tragedy, one of the worst industrial disasters in the world, which claimed the lives of around 15,000 people.
"Make fun of the tragedy of gas and its victims. #Shameless", wrote a user.
"Change your Internet connection, your tweets take 10 days to be published," reads another tweet.
Another user wrote, "These guys are so cut off from reality."
Despite the flood of answers and the ruthless train, the "Rock On !!" The actor has not yet posted his tweet nor his correction.
Four hours after its publication on the microblogging site, he had collected more than 1,600 retweets and 8,600 responses.
Farhan's parents, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, strongly criticized the BJP and central government policies led by Narendra Modi. The couple also quickly campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar, the Communist Party candidate from Begusarai in Bihar. (ANI)
