Deepika Padukone made headlines around the world, first for her outfits at Met Gala 2019 and more recently for her red carpet badbadination at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Think about it, it's Peter Dundas's dramatic dress a gigantic detail with a knot and a long trail or the weird green lime green dress of Giambattista Valli indicating that she badociated with a bow and at a pastel pink headgear, Deepika was simply a show for sore eyes.
Alongside Bollywood fashionistas, her husband and Bollywood star, Ranveer Singh, are also known for her quirky fashion sense, at least when it comes to Bollywood's male stars. So why did not Deepika take her husband to walk on the red carpet at his side? The actress was interviewed as well and her response was as relevant as possible.
According to a report published in of the Hindustan Times when Deepika was questioned about bringing Ranveer to walk on the red carpet at Cannes 2019, she stated that the Met Gala is in New York is more fashionable to Ranveer and that she would totally surpbad him if he walked on the red carpet with her. Before you jump the gun, think about it for a second. The actress is not wrong at all.
As mentioned before, Ranveer is a noisy, flamboyant style, sometimes even absurd and yet intriguing. While Cannes aims to keep it both subtle and discreet, the New York Met Gala is the place where fools and unusual people mix. For example, this year, Mad Hatter's Mad Hatter-inspired Met Gala look for Johnny Depp's Alice in Wonderland would also have been successful by Ranveer Singh.
Meanwhile, Deepika is very busy. with his first production, Chhapaak. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, renowned Raazi, Chhapaak tells the story of Laxmi Agarwal, survivor of the acid attack, and Deepika will play the lead role, while Vikrant Mbadey will play his love interest.
