British singer Bobby Gillespie, of British band Primal Scream, called Madonna a "total prostitute" for her performance at Eurovision 2019 in Israel.
Gillespie strongly criticized the American singer who had chosen to perform in Tel Aviv, claiming that her choice had helped her "normalize the state of Israel".
The group leader also said that the state was on a "stolen land" and that Madonna was performing because she was desperate for money and publicity. Gillespie stated that he was not anti-Semitic and that all his heroes were Jewish.
Addressing Kirsty Wark on the Newsnight of the BBC, Gillespie said:
Madonna would do anything for money, you know that & # 39; She is a total prostitute.
And I have nothing against prostitutes.
Everything is set up to normalize the state of Israel and its shameful treatment of the Palestinian people.
Madonna made an appearance on Saturday during the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. The venue sparked calls for a boycott of the Palestinian-led boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, which wants companies, performers and governments to withdraw from Israel.
