HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" ends Sunday after eight seasons. The last episode of the series, "The Iron Throne", was just as controversial as the rest of the season among critics and fans.
The final season started on a positive note with the first episode, "Winterfell". achieved an impressive 92% critical score for the examination aggregate, Rotten Tomatoes. But the scores of the episodes have since collapsed, with the penultimate episode of the show, "The Bells", at 47%.

Season Eight is the least-commented season of the series, with a critical score 70% of Rotten Tomatoes. The other seven seasons have never fallen below 90%. The audience score is also the worst with 37%, based on more than 8,800 users.
"Game of Thrones" is one of the biggest shows of all time. The viewers had high expectations for the last abbreviated season in six episodes. The low scores indicate that many viewers have not survived.
