Writer Tahira Kashyap, wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, has been an inspiration to many people with cancer like her. Speaking on Pinkvilla's new show, No Labels Attached, she recounted how she fought against her insecurities such as baldness and accepted the notions of beauty in her fight against the disease.
never know how you will react until the situation arises. So when I started my chemo, I knew I was going to lose my hair and I had kept a wig ready, many scarves, of different colors. I had everything prepared because I was not ready to go bald. "

I had never imagined my bald hair, not even short hair. I came from the school of thought where beauty meant long hair, but it was before me. But there was a day when the extensions could not hold the humble strands of hair I had on my head. So one day, I had to decide to shave it. When my son saw, he said, "I saw men go bald, why should that happen to my mother?" He told me not to meet his friends but that's exactly what I did. I met them and after 15 to 20 minutes they knew everything was normal. That day, I redefined the beauty for them. "
Tahira is a source of inspiration not only for cancer patients, but for all others equally, given the frankness with which she spoke of her insecurities of being a star woman . Speaking to Spotboye during an interview, she had revealed how much the kiss on the screen between Ayushmann and her co-stars was a huge problem for her at the origin. "I had a problem with the fact that he is kissing on the screen. I felt like a big fat whale sitting at home. When you are pregnant, your hormones also go up and down. Here, this boy is watching his best young man and he is a romantic woman and what is this kiss on the screen! We were both very young. He did not have the time and patience to take me and I did not have the patience to understand. There was this disconnect that we were not there for each other along this trip. Somehow, he knew she did not mean crazy. I also knew that he was not cheating. I had to evolve as a person to understand what is art. "
Ayushmann also explained how they had fought his cancer as a team and revealed in an interview with Rajeev Masand how they had learned about his illness on his birthday. He added that instead of getting bogged down, they decided to face together. In fact, they watched a movie (Manmarziyaan) that day.
