Ekta Kapoor took over the role of BJP leader and BFF Smriti Irani. The friendship between the two goes way back. Smriti Irani rose to prominence with Ekta Kapoor's production Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in the year 2000. She became a common household name by playing the character of Tulsi Virani. At the peak of her career, Smriti Irani decided to join the politics and is currently contesting the Lok Sabha 2019 elections from Amethi.
Ekta uploaded a photo of her with a television at some distance, with the vote counting going on. The caption of the post reads: "All eyes on #amethi we are rooting for our aunt."
