Karan Johar was part of the long list of Bollywood actors and personalities who visited actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh in New York. Rishi went to the United States during the past year while he was undergoing cancer treatment.
Calling the duo as his "absolutely favorite couple" and sharing the picture, Karan wrote: "My absolutely favorite couple of Indian cinema …. I grew up loving them and I am so privileged to know them .. strong … resilient and full of positivity! @ Neetu54 and Chintuji are absolutely incredible and full of love !! Thank you for your energy! I love you !!! "
Sharing the same image, Neetu explained how Karan had hugged Rishi, and she wrote, "He gave the tightest hug and the longest kiss said half of that love came from his mother, Hiroo. Sometimes simple words meant such a great love for him. "

In the past, a number of Bollywood celebrities visited Rishi in New York, including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Karisma Kapoor with his father Randhir, Aamir Khan, of Priyanka Chopra, of Anupam Kher, of Alia Bhatt and her mother, Soni Razdan, among others
Rishi, left for the last US year in September, or the family members had chosen not to name the nature of his illness, but in April, director Rahul Rawail wrote on Facebook that the actor was "cancer-free." He wrote: "RISHI KAPOOR (CHINTU) is CANCER FREE !!!! "It's not clear if the photo is new. When it was contacted, R ahul told us, "Yes, Rishi is absolutely cancer free now. I did not meet him, but I spoke to him by phone. He called me in the morning [Tuesday] and announced me [good] that he was totally cured of a cancer. He just needs a little follow-up and a procedure to make sure there will be no recidivism at any time. So that's all that remains now.
Randhir later confirmed this information, which told Hindustan Times: "Yes, he is much better and he will come back soon. [On whether he is completely cured] he is about to recover completely and it takes time, he has to finish all the way, but he is fine. "
