An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 affected the Bankura district of West Bengal today morning, the Indian Meteorological Department announced.

On Saturday, two medium-intensity earthquakes of 5.0 and 4.8 struck the Andaman Islands region and Nicobar. The archipelagos Andaman and Nicobar are subject to earthquakes.
