Death of director Veeru Devgan, father of Ajay Devgn

Veeru Devgan, the popular film director as " Roti Kapda Aur Makaan " and " Mr. Natwaral " and the father of the actor Ajay Devgn, died at Mumbai Monday morning. He was 77 years old. The cause of death is not immediately known, but family sources have indicated that Veeru has not been doing well for some time.

His funeral will be held at the Vile Parle West Crematorium at 6 pm

Veeru, originally from Amritsar, escaped from his home to try his luck at the cinema. Initially, he wanted to become an actor, but he became a stuntman and choreographer of action, recalled the experienced stunt director in several interviews.

However, he achieves his dream of succeeding in Bollywood through his son Ajay, considered one of the most successful and versatile actors of his generation.

Veeru worked in more than 80 Bollywood films and starred for major heroes such as Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra, among others.

One of Veeru's most famous action scenes is the first appearance of his son Ajay on the big screen: he was on two motorcycles during his introduction in his first film in 1991 " Phool Aur Kaante ".

Veeru also becomes director with " Hindustan Ki Kasam " in 1999.
