China opposes any kind of official exchanges between the United States and Taiwan, said Lu Kang, spokesman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a conference of press held Monday.
This follows a meeting between Taiwan security chief David Lee and US President Donald Trump's national security adviser John Bolton earlier this month in Washington.
China urges the United States to correct its mistakes, stop official exchanges with the Taiwanese authorities and treat the Taiwan problem in a careful and appropriate manner, Lu said there is only one Only one China and there can only be unofficial exchanges with Taiwan in China.
