In the last episode of Talk is Jericho, Jon Moxley mentioned that at the end of his run with WWE in the role of Dean Ambrose, he had played a game against RAW with the EC3 while he had lost face in about two minutes. According to Moxley, the crowd did not appreciate the show because it was "transparent" what was happening, as it seemed like the WWE was burying it before leaving the company. He said that it was an "unfair position" for EC3 to be, because he was going to have the reaction. Moxley added that when they worked together on house broadcasts this weekend, Moxley was applauded by the crowd even though he was the clear heel (including blatant cheating) because the crowd was sending an anti-WWE message.
Shortly after, Ambrose was shot face to face, EC3 lost the rematch and has not won any more matches since 1965.
In the latest episode of Wrestling Radio Observer, Bryan Alvarez s'. is asked out loud if the crowd does not react the way the WWE would like it could have punished EC3.
Dave Meltzer replied: " That's the case! Of course that's it. The following week or the following week, they beat EC3 with a guy who was leaving the company. It's 100% what happened. "
He added that the reaction of the crowd probably had more to do with the fact that the audience of the live event knew who Ambrose was more than EC3 instead of the theory of Moxley that it was a kind of anti-WWE statement.
