Tollywood quite greedy? If not total Tollywood, at least the producers are making sure that they will show they are the only ones who have a director.
Take the posters of recent movies like Varun-Venky's F2, Allu Sirish's ABCD and upcoming movie Saaho as well. If you look at the credits list of the movie, they will first be the first producer, followed by the director. Vamsi-Pramod name and director Sujeeth's name in the same line, the producer comes first.
Cut to Bollywood, Karan Johar and T-Series are themselves putting their director's name first and then the producer name. Take a look at Kalank and De De Pyaar, where the director's name is first, then the producer's name. Also, the director's name gets a bit highlighted too. Even the posters of the future Kabir Singh was the name of Sandeep Reddy Vanga first, rather than the rich producers Bhushan Kumar and Co.
While you call director as the captain of the ship, it's better that you give him credit where needed . Will Telugu producers ever do that? Let's see.
