"The FBI is on your trail. Ramesh Kanna, a few days ago, sent a text message to a friend.
The actor had no idea how to react to that. He had not yet caught up with #Pray_For_Neasamani who was fashionable on social media.
Ramesh embodied Krishnamurthy, the character who had dropped the famous suthiyal on the head of the entrepreneur Neasamani (Vadivelu) in the 2001 Tamil film Friends .
Eighteen years later, he was famous for his role thanks to Twitterati who dissected the comedy sequence into shreds. He discusses his enthusiasm in a quick discussion.
How have these days gone?
Do not ask me … I had lunch only in the evening! All I do is attend phone calls and give bytes to the TV channels.
How do you see this renewed popularity thanks to the "Neasamani" trend on Twitter?
I think it is amazing because we are talking about a Tamil A movie released 18 years ago! I owe this new popularity to the sound humor of the movie, to Siddique (director) and, of course, to all those many memoir makers.
Bring us back to the year 2000 when the offer of Friends came your way.
It's fresh in my memory. The manufacturers wanted me to play the role that Sreenivasan played in the original malayalam; I had just finished Unnidathil Ennai Kuduthen and Padayappa at that time.

They wanted a director-actor to play the role and that's how I took the measure. We shot in the garden of Kushaldas and if you see the sequence of Suthiyal closely, Vadivelu and I mark for Vijay and Suriya, who now lead heroes.
We had a ball that was pulling friends because we had no ego, no difference. We just wanted to give the audience a fun movie.
Have you had a chance to talk to Mr. Neasamani (Vadivelu) after #Pray_For_Neasamani?
I have not had a chance yet. He is absent in Madurai, but I spoke to Siddique director.
And?
I harbaded him for making Friends 2. We will try to rope Vijay, Suriya and Vadivelu for the rest as well.
What is your perspective on comedy in today's cinema?
Previously, action, songs and comedy were of equal importance, but they dropped dramatically. I have the feeling that this is the only theatrical sequence that stands the test of time, and the 'Neasamani' trend is proof of that.
