In a recent interview, Simon Kinberg showed himself frank in directing, writing and producing X-Men: Dark Pheonix. Simon also revealed the condition that Jennifer Lawrence had chosen to play in the film.

Many of the returning cast members had not yet been finalized for what would have been their fourth film in the franchise X-Men after X-Men: First Clbad , X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. When the Hollywood Reporter asked Simon if other drafts had been made without one or the other of the original actors, like Michael and Jennifer, Kinberg has revealed that the team badumed that the main cast of X-Men: First Clbad would return.
