After The Sacred Games actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will feature another Netflix project: the film adaptation of Manu Joseph's novel published in 2010 Serious Men.
Siddiqui will play Ayyan Mani, the streaming giant announced in a press release. The movie Netflix will be directed by Sudhir Mishra ( Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Daas Dev, Hostages ) and was produced by Bombay Fables and Cineraas Entertainment. Serious Men is one of 15 original Netflix movies announced by the streaming platform earlier this year. The release date and other details of the distribution of Serious Men are not yet known.
Joseph's novel explores caste and clbad in Mumbai through the experiences of Ayyan, a Dalit working as badistant to the director of the higher caste of a scientific research institute. Frustrated by his circumstances and having little information about his intelligence, Ayyan makes an elaborate lie by claiming that his 10-year-old son is a prodigy. The novel won the Hindu Best Fiction Award in 2010 and the PEN Open Book Award in 2011.
In a press release, Siddiqui said: "I am very happy to be part of Serious Men of Netflix. work with a creative mind like Sudhir Mishra. This is my second time with Netflix and I hope people will give Ayyan Mani the same love they brought to Ganesh Gaitonde from Sacred Games .
