Fakir's Extraordinary Journey is based on the book of the same name written by Romain Puértolas. It tells the story of the journey of a magician of the Indian street in Paris. The character of Dhanush is caught in a crazy journey. It deals with many issues, including refugees. Dhanush meets Bérénice Bejo, Erin Moriarty, Barkhad Abdi and Gérard Jugnot. The music was composed by Nicolas Errèra. Vincent Mathias is the director of photography of the film. He has been widely filmed in India, France, Italy and Libya.
