Deepika Padukone recently completed the filming of her upcoming film "Chhapaak", directed by Meghna Gulzar. The actress announced the same on her Instagram account by sharing a photo with her team. The film is based on the life of a survivor of an acid attack, Laxmi Agarwal.

Speaking of the actress, the director said that Deepika looked like Laxmi, that's thanks to experts in Clove Wootton prosthetics. The look trials started in October and the film started from March.

Meghna also stated that Deepika, while Malti was going through different stages of the film, had to meet the real plastic surgeon Laxmi.

The prosthetic expert has tried to understand the process of skin behavior in case of burns or healing.

Meghna said that the actress had been fabulous and patient. The actress is totally submissive to the director. And it was the same during the prostheses. It took long hours to shoot for the prostheses.

Meghna also shared the fact that the appearance had a psychological impact, as she became a totally different person. And Deepika bore the impact with herself when she was on the set. Meghna added that the actress is a true activist and that she did it with all the grace. The director hopes it's worth it when the audience looks at it.

The film will be released in January 2020.
