Singer Bhajan Anup Jalota revealed that he would be part of the reality show Bigg Boss 13 this year. He had participated in the reality show last year and had entered the house with his student, Jasleen Matharu. Both described themselves as a real couple and let the viewers guess until the end.

Jalota recently released a new music video titled Kesaria Balam, featuring the competitors of Bigg Boss 12, Somi Khan and Deepak Thakur. Anup and Jasleen had formed a relationship during the show but denied it on the other side of the Bigg Boss home. While Anup was away from Jasleen after her early exit, Jasleen continued to call her boyfriend until her exit a few days before the final. She then described this farce as a joke she decided to play when Salman introduced it before they entered the house.
In an interview with Spotboye.com, Anup had claimed that it was Jasleen who was supposed to enter the Bigg Boss house and that her father had asked her to follow him as a guru-shishya jodi.
He accused Jasleen of using it and said, "She wanted to enjoy my popularity, which she did. I am a very positive person and I think that if I can help someone, I should. If she ever used me for the platform, I'm glad she managed to do it. "
