Kalpetta (Kerala): Award-winning actor Malayalam Vinayakan was convicted for verbally abusing an activist by phone, police announced Saturday.

The case was registered on the basis of the complaint of the woman, a native of Pambady in Kottayam District, alleging that the actor had spoken in obscene terms and used abusive words when he was in the company. she had invited her to a position here in April, they said. .

Renowned for his character and comedic roles, Vinayakan, who began his career as a dancer, has been part of Malayalam cinema for two decades.

He received the title of "Best Actor" of the Kerala State Film Award for his role in the movie "Kammattipaadam" directed by Rajiv Ravi in ​​2016.
