Suman Rao, a CA student from Rajasthan, won the Miss India World 2019 victory. The ceremony was held Saturday at the Indoor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium. Rao said she was honored and happy to have won the title.
"It still has not sunk. I feel that I have become a glimmer of hope for the society from which I come and now, other young women like me. will never be afraid to follow their dreams. My family and friends are delighted and I look forward to celebrating with them, "she said in a statement.
Shivani Jadhav, a graduate engineer from Chhattisgarh, was crowned Miss Grand India 2019, while Shreya Shanker's management student from Bihar won the Miss India United Continents 2019 title.
Sanjana Vij from Telangana was named Miss India Runner Up 2019.
The winners were judged by a jury composed of the famous designer duo Falguni Shane Peabad, Miss World 2018, Vanessa Ponca de Leon, actors Huma Qureshi, Chitrangda Singh, Aayush Sharma, the choreographer -Maintenor Remo D'Souza, sprinter Dutee Chand and football captain Sunil Chhetri.
The evening was marked by captivating performances by Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Nora Fatehi and Mouni Roy. The show was hosted by Bollywood filmmaker, Karan Johar, and actress-presenter Maniesh Paul, as well as by Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar.
