With deep regret, I have to declare here that I had to end climbing Mount Kilimanjaro after the climb of day 2 due to severe claustrophobia two nights in a row. I was one of the strongest people in the group – physically and mentally, at the same time. And I knew that I would reach the summit sooner than I expected. "

" But you can never be prepared for everything. And in my case, it's my serious case of Claustrophobia that I had not counted before the climb. But the mountain has taught me. The darkness on the mountain caused me serious claustrophobia and my heart throbbed so fast that I nearly fainted last night in front of my tent. And that's when I decided to withdraw from the expedition because I dreaded darkness every day at sunset. I did not thank enough the @kiliwarriors team for saving me from my near-death experience. The porters, the guides, everyone helped me to pack my bags, walked with me for 1 hour in total darkness at 5 cold degrees to take me to a place where the car could pick me up and take me on the mountain. This experience has taught me so much and I feel different as a person today. I am grateful and proud of having climbed the 12,000 feet above sea level without any difficulty.
