Actor Munmum Dutta, who starred in SAB TV's hit TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Babita Ji (aka Babita Iyer), had a life-threatening experience while on vacation in the African nation, Tanzania. She was climbing the famous mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, as part of her journey, when she was the victim of a crisis of claustrophobia and panic.
Munmum shared the experience on her Instagram account with pictures, explaining how, after day 2, at the camp, in the mountains, she had an attack and had to be lowered. She explained how the total darkness of the mountain caused her severe claustrophobia and almost fainted. She wrote: "It was DAY 1 of the climb. With deep regret, I have to declare here that I had to end climbing Mount Kilimanjaro after the climb of day 2 due to severe claustrophobia two nights in a row. I was one of the strongest people in the group – physically and mentally, at the same time. And I knew that I would reach the summit sooner than I expected. But you can never be prepared for everything. And in my case, it's my serious case of claustrophobia that I did not count before the climb. But the mountain has taught me.
"The darkness on the mountain gave me severe claustrophobia and my heart was throbbing so fast that I nearly fainted last night in front of my tent. And that's when I decided to withdraw from the expedition because I dreaded darkness every day at sunset. I did not thank enough the @kiliwarriors team for saving me from my near-death experience. The porters, the guides, everyone helped me to pack my bags, walk with me for an hour in total darkness by 5 degrees cold to take me to a place where the car could come get me and bring me down the mountain. "

She shared photos of her experiences from days 1 and 2 before her panic attack.She later shared photos of a visit to a national park. Munmun was very grateful to the team on his tour who had it really in its most difficult moments.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been in the news for other reasons as well. The successful show still failed to find a replacement for Disha Vakani, the actor who staged the role of the character Dayaben in the series.
