WWE has many legends that it can call when it needs them. Their new deal with Saudi Arabia made this very convenient as they continue to capitalize on nostalgia. However, fans should not at all hope for a return to Sting.
The company recently criticized the hype of Undertaker vs. Sting simply for getting fans to invest in an online video they eventually aired. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that this had been done to brag about the viral video on The Undertaker that was going on at the WCW and nothing more. He is back in the ring because of his age and the fact that he is suffering from spinal stenosis.
Inside the group believes that the company would never risk getting caught by Sting, since it has never been operated on the neck. It's a 60-year-old man who suffers from a spinal stenosis and we do not even talk about him.
That might be a little disappointing, but at least that dispels the idea that WWE could touch Sting enough. money to fight in Saudi Arabia.
The fact is, you can never say never, but it's probably not worth spending money for now.
