Santhanam Dhillukku Dhuddu stands out from other horror comedies by the parody elements of his previously published ghost films and by the satirical comic typical of the actor one. After all his blockbuster films failed at the box office, he returned with Dhillukku Dhuddu now to regain his lost form!
Vellai Viji (Santhanam) is a car driver from Chennai living with his uncle (Motta Rajendran). The whole neighborhood hates both because of their atrocities and nocturnal nuisances. In the same city, there is a Maya psychotherapist (Shritha Sivadas) and his strange state is that whoever falls in love with her is attacked by a strange supernatural power !! Karthik (TM Karthik), the leader of Maya is also Viji's neighbor. Karthik draws a plan and creates a situation. Viji and Maya start to see each other. As soon as Viji proposes it to Maya, he is attacked by ghosts.
To obtain the agreement of his father, Garudaraja Pattadhari (Bipin), a black magician, Vjji goes to Kerala only to know more secrets about Maya and its mysterious state.
Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 belongs to Santhanam. From the first scene until the apogee, the actor tickles our funny bones and makes us laugh all the time. This film also tells us how much we missed the comedy of Santhanam in Tamil cinema, he should seriously consider coming back as a leading comedian or at least as true entertainers like the series Dhillukku Dhuddu . After Santhanam, it is Rajendran who scores well and who closes the roof with his presence on the screen. The combination of Rajendran – Santhanam is ideally the greatest strength of the film. Urvashi, always reliable, disappoints and the other actors are only sufficient.
The first half of the film is very funny with the hilarious comic episodes of Santhanam and Rajendran. However, once Santhanam reaches Kerala, the film runs out of steam and resumes its momentum in the pre-climax episode. The last thirty minutes entertain us thoroughly, which is another positive aspect of the film.
Technically, synthesis plans are not up to par, while visuals and music are equally correct. Overall, Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 is a successful horror comedy. Fans of the first part will appreciate it more.
