A group of police officers from Kerala are deployed in Chhattisgarh for the elections, in a forest area heavily threatened by the Maoists. They divide into groups. A nine-member team, led by Deputy Inspector Manikandan (Mammootty), is stationed in an isolated area where an ITBP commando, Kapil Dev (Bhagwan Tiwary), is also present. The police, who have virtually no weapons to fight the Maoist attack, do not realize the seriousness of the situation in which they find themselves. When they gradually understand the danger to which they may be exposed, panic strikes them.
They do not have enough balls and the facilities are really limited. As the police begin to show their frustration, Manikandan does not know how to pacify them. The authorities who sent them do not care about their well-being or their safety and the cops live in fear. It is clear from the beginning that this one does not have much action and that the effort is to show things realistically. Harshad, who wrote the screenplay, and director Khalid Rahman presents a political drama in an engaging manner. Bold political statements are made and questions asked, which will hit you hard. Of course, this one is meant for those who are aware of the news and those looking for masala may not find this as interesting.
The visuals of Sajith Purushan and the music of Prashanth Pillai are really good. There have been comparisons made with the movie Hindi 2017 Newto n before the release, but it is clear that the similarities are end with some aspects of the context of history. With an impressive range of actors, the situation becomes more engaging. There are some things to fix, but we can not be ruined by everything. Bhagwan Tiwary, Bollywood actor, shines like a doctor who became a soldier
But then Mammootty sets off a brilliant demonstration of subtle play. He's not really healthy, not very confident and scared, whereas he's putting himself in the place of Mani's character sir. He must be applauded for his dedicated performance. Unda is a compelling race that will appeal primarily to those who take the films seriously. If you are a fan of Mammootty, here is one of his best performances. Look at this one!
