Syracuse – A heat wave will be cooking Central New York this weekend with high temperatures and oppressive humidity. This will result in dangerous heat index values, especially on Sunday

Temperatures will start on the weekend mild, but not too uncomfortable. Friday night temperatures will drop in the 60s and most regions will start Saturday near 60 degrees.

A clear, sunny sky and a steady southwesterly wind will cause temperatures to warm rapidly once the sun is up. Temperatures will explode through the 70s and 80s.
