New Delhi: A 22-year-old mother was arrested for badually badaulting her 17-year-old "husband," even though she repeatedly stated that their relationship was consensual and that the couple had a five-month-old daughter from the relationship.

This woman was apprehended under protection. The Children's Sexual Offenses Act (Pocso) brought the court to bail. She had previously been allowed to keep her daughter with her in Byculla prison.

According to a report published in by The Times of India the complaint to the police filed by the young man's mother alleged that the woman had "attracted" her son. The "marriage" took place on November 8, 2017.

In her December 2017 statement, the mother declared on November 23 that the woman had come to her residence accompanied by her parents and brother.
The report, citing the young man's mother, indicated that the woman claimed to have married her son and would now reside in the house. When she and her husband objected, the woman abused them and threatened to harm herself. She said that after the woman left, her son had left the house and refused to come back. She claimed that the woman had been married and divorced twice

. She added that her son and the woman had been in contact for two years and that since then her behavior had changed. The mother stated that her son informed her and her father that the woman was threatening suicide if he did not meet her

. She claimed that it caused mental stress in her son who failed his clbad X exam.
