Mumbai: A taxi driver was arrested for Ekta Kapoor, a producer and director of criminal harbadment. The accused, identified as Sudhir Rajendra Singh, was working for a taxi aggregator.

Sudhir, a resident of Haryana, wanted to invite the director-producer to play a role in a film or TV series: Singh was trying to meet the producer for a month and continued to harbad her despite several layoffs.

Kapoor's bodyguards also warned him when he had tried to approach her recently at a temple in Juhu, Mumbai.

The 32-year-old was also able to gather information about her whereabouts and enrolled in a gym near Kapoor.

"On March 16, Singh tried to follow Ekta into the gym, but was stopped by his guards, and Ekta's company complained about it, arrested on March 18 in Andheri West. under Article 354 (D) of the CPI, "said a police officer.

Police used technical surveillance, including video surveillance, to capture Sudhir Singh. More than 30 cases were found where Singh had tried to follow Ekta Kapoor.

Police seized Singh's mobile phone and study how he managed to obtain information about where Kapoor was.
