Laal Singh Chaddha will be directed by Advait Chandan, who previously directed Aamir in the film Secret Superstar. The adaptation scenario was written by actor and screenwriter Atul Kulkarni. While there was much speculation around Aamir Khan's next project after Thugs of Hindostan, the actor announced his intention to play the remake of Forrest Gump for his birthday in March earlier this year. Aamir also said that he would lose about 20 kg for his role in Laal Singh Chaddha.
