A 12-year-old Punjab singer, Aftab Singh, was announced winner of the Rising Star 3 reality show on Saturday night. He says he's a big fan of superstar Salman Khan and that he wants to sing for him someday.
"I am on the cloud nine. I did not even expect to be part of the finalists. It's like a dream come true. This victory is important to me. It will now motivate me to do more hard work to be able to work in movies and sing for Salman Khan someday, "he said.
Shankar Mahadevan, Diljit Singh and Udit Narayan hand over the winning check to Aftab.

Aftab, who was the youngest of the three other finalists, won the winning trophy and a cash prize of 10 lakh. "My journey on Rising Star has been incredible and it's a dream come true. Whenever I played on the stage; I could hear my heart beating, but the thrill it brought was second to none. The constant support and love of judges and the public have motivated me to improve my performance every time. I would like to thank all the esteemed experts for their honest comments and encouragement. I also owe my victory to the public who voted for me in large numbers and helped me win this prestigious show, "he added.
By winning the show, Aftab said that he wished to dedicate this triumph to his father. "My father is my inspiration, he has struggled a lot in his life, I do not belong to a rich family, I have seen the hard work of my father He did a lot to get me to this platform, it's not my victory … it's his victory, "added Aftab.
