The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has not waived the participation of the national team at the Asian Games in Jakarta. Although the Indian Olympic Association (AIO) has expressed its intention not to whitewash the team, AIFF has placed its hopes in the intervention of the Ministry of Sports.
AIFF Secretary General, Kushal Das, confirmed Monday no communication from the AIO in this regard.
"A senior official (not the president of the AIO, NK Batra) had conveyed the message that the football team would not be allowed." But AIFF has yet to nothing received in writing.We are full of hope, "said Das.

Das described AIO's decision as "sad and discouraging" and offered to support the team's expenses. we even mentioned that we are ready to take care of the travel costs and to stay alone.

A senior AIO official, however, questioned the wisdom of the AIFF public when no official communication was sent rejecting the participation of the team in the Asian Games.
