Actor Ajay Devgn's father, Veeru Devgn, died Monday in Mumbai. He worked as a stunt director in Bollywood movies. According to a mid-day report, he was reportedly admitted to Surya Hospital in Santacruz, Mumbai. His funeral will be held at the Vile Crematorium on Monday evening at 6 pm
Veeru has worked on 80 films such as Lal Baadshah and Ishq. He even directed Hindustan Ki Kasam in 1999, which featured Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay and Manisha Koirala.
RIP Veeru Devgan ji. VientJust comes to know this sad news. As a director of action always ahead of his time and as a human being par excellence. I became stuntman with his blessing on August 8, 1980, when he signed my stunt application and joined me on his team. Kaushal's father and stunt director, Sham Kaushal, expressed his grief at Devgn's death. "RIP Veeru Devgan ji. I just knew this sad news. As a director of action always ahead of his time and as a human being par excellence. I became a stuntman with his blessing on August 8, 1980, when he signed my application to become a stuntman and made me part of his team, "he wrote in a tweet.
Speaking of his father a few years ago, Ajay had stated that he was his true Singham. "The Singham in my life can only be my father. Because he was a man who came to Bombay at the time with 4 in his pocket, wanted to become something, struggled, was washed and lived in taxis to live here, he did not not eaten for eight days, worked so hard, he became a street fighter until Mr. Ravi Khanna saw him one day ask him if he was going to become a combat director. From there, his growth from nowhere to become the greatest Indian director is remarkable.
"I saw so much respect for him that some of the biggest actors would touch his feet, wanting to work with him. When I was born, he had enough money. Child and son of filmmaker-director, I still had the same lifestyle as today, including owning a Mercedes. He has 50 stitches in his head and broke all the bones of his body. So, no one else can be my Singham. "
