Akshay Kumar, a Bollywood actor, faces the heat of his citizenship and many questions are put to him. However, the actor in a message posted Friday on Twitter wrote that he was an Indian taxpayer and that he wanted to make the country "stronger and stronger".
Kumar's message says that the negativity surrounding his citizenship is unjustified and that he does not need to prove his love for the nation. He also stated that even though he was a Canadian pbadport holder, he had not visited the country in the last seven years.
Kumar added that he intended to contribute in every way possible to the nation-building and that he loved it no matter what the people say about his citizenship. In the media, Akshay Kumar quickly avoids a question from a journalist who asked him to respond to those who criticize him for not voting. Before she could even finish her question, Akshay dismissed her saying "Chaliye Beta" while taking the reporter. He then says, "This is what I tell you …" to someone who stands behind him. The rest of the audio, however, is not clear.
