Akshay Kumar gave 15 lakhs to Sundari Devi, wife of Jeet Ram Gurjar from Sundrawali village in Bharatpur, said Jagdish Narayan Meena, Deputy Inspector General of the Central Reserve Police (CRPF). Gurjar was one of 40 CRPF soldiers killed in a suicide bombing on 14 February in the Pulwama district of southern Kashmir.
The amount was transferred under the confidence of Akshay Kumar, Bharat Ke Veer. The CRPF informed the family of the killed soldier of the bank transfer.
Gurjar's younger brother, Vikram Singh, thanks the actor for his financial help. "We are very poor. Jeet was the only winning member of the family. This help came at a time when the family needed it the most, "he said.

Previously, Akshay had pledged to donate the crore of Rs 5 via Bharat Ke Veer. On February 16, he also tweeted to ask fans to participate.
