Actress Alia Bhatt and her boyfriend actor Ranbir Kapoor work together for the first time at Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. She described this experience as a magical experience. Speaking of the film and Ranbir, Alia said that she admired her work ethic.

Speaking in more detail of Ranbir, she said: he and I are together is for a movie like this. There was a time when I thought, "When will I be able to work with him? What's going to happen? And then it happened. Also, it's been a long time since Brahmastra was not conceptualized – it was five years ago, right after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. It was also the moment when Ayan and I got together. It was a very big moment for me when he proposed me this part. I was not who I am today, but he always trusted me. It was a big problem for me and since that day, I've always been looking forward to being on this board every day. Because it's a new challenge every day and I gave up as an actor. I have always thought that when Ranbir and I meet, it must be magical and literal, it can not be more magical than that. I say all this with hope and without being pompous about it.

Alia and Ranbir confirmed their relationship last year. Ranbir said he was dating Alia in an interview with GQ magazine in May, while Alia confirmed it to him when he appeared in Koffee With Karan with Ranbir's former Deepika Padukone. "Ranbir makes me feel different. He gives me another high. Yes, it is true that I have always been a little afraid to reveal my private life, but with him, there is a deep feeling of comfort. He is an incredible soul and there are so many things that I learn everyday with him, not only as an artist, but also as a human being. I would simply say that I am in a happy space, both professionally and personally, "she said.
Brahmastra is expected to be released in December this year, but has recently been postponed to the summer of 2020. Alia has several other films in her bad like Takht of Karan Johar, RRR of SS Rajamouli, Insjah of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sadah 2, from his father Mahesh Bhatt. Speaking of juggling all these projects, Alia said, "I can really do other films in between, but being able to collaborate on such a broad vision makes me happy and excited. I know for a fact that this will probably have a considerable impact globally if it is received and appreciated. It is a vision of another kind, but at the same time it is rooted in the Indian feeling.
"The Brahmastra is the most powerful weapon that has been used in all battles – the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. In our film, there is reference to Indian mythology, which is why we launched our first logo in the sky. There is a reason for this. The film happens in modern and contemporary times, but the world is part of our mythology. You feel the magnitude and wonder of what is possible from our own Indian roots and the universe. The dialogue of Amit ji says "pure Brahmin jism ki shakti bhari hui hai", she said.
