Actress Alia Bhatt continues to produce outstanding performances in each of her films, but her latest release, Kalank, has failed to impress at the box office. The actor understood the challenge and addressed the issue at the recent Critics Choice Film Awards ceremony in Mumbai.
Asked about the answer to Kalank, Alia said, "In this entertainment industry, everyone is trying to do their best to try to do what we aspire to do. Sometimes it turns out to be good sometimes not. And that's something we need to learn, pick up the pieces and move on. It's not like the sun is shining every day, it's raining sometimes. It's learning for everyone.
Alia plays Roop in the multi-starrer who boasts of a set including Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. The film was released on a Wednesday. Despite the advantage of the extended weekend, the film has raised 66.03 Rs crore in five days. It had opened at Rs 21.60 on Wednesday, but the results fell sharply soon after, despite mixed reviews.
The film makes a lot of noise for its big stages and its elaborate dance numbers. Alia was congratulated for her dance performance at Ghar More Pardesiya while Madhuri played Tabah Ho Gaye, Kriti Sanon as well as Varun and Aditya at Aira Gaira and Kiara Advani with Varun Dhawan in first clbad.
Day 5 of Kalank Kiosk: Varun Dhawan, film rejected by Alia Bhatt by the public, wins Rs 66.03 cr
In his review of the film, Hindustan Times film critic, Raja Sen, wrote : I want each picture to be a painting, but each dialogue a proverb, each scene an omen. The result is beautiful but tedious, an opera that required a big singer to play it halfway. "
