Actress Alia Bhatt fully fulfills the duties of her maid of honor. While her latest film, Gully Boy, marked a century at the box office on Friday, she spent the day celebrating the wedding of her close friend in Delhi.
Alia shared a photo and video of the haldi ceremony of her friend Devika Advani. She is shown putting turmeric paste on the bride's face while showing the biggest smile. In the video, we see her putting haldi on the groom too, while the two laugh together. Alia wore a soft pastel green suit to function. At the sangeet ceremony on Thursday, Alia performed on stage with her friends to perform the song Lamberghini and gave a speech in front of her friend. She said that she would try to talk without crying and told a beautiful story from before their childhood. She added that they would play together "actor-actress" and play alternately boy and girl. However, her friend always ended up playing the girl and she would always be the boy. She thanked the groom for taking this role of her for life. Watch the videos here:
Meanwhile, things are going so well for Alia on the job front. Gully Boy has raised 100 crores of rupee in a week and has earned him much praise for his work. It was released in theaters February 14 and won a huge Rs. 19.40 crore on the day of its opening. The film was enthusiastically received by viewers, as well as critics, because of the power of its dialogues, the raw prowess of Alia's staging and Ranveer Singh, lead actor of the film.
It premiered for the first time at the Berlin International Film Festival. Many international publications have given a good review of the film. Even Hollywood actor Will Smith became a fan of Ranveer and shared a video on his Instagram account, praising his rapper skills.
Apart from that, Ranveer and Alia will also be seen in Karan Johar's next film, Takht. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kapoor Janhvi, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar also play in the lead drama of the period.
