A day before Kalank opened in cinemas, a special screening of the film was presented by Dharma Productions, attended by members of the cast, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur , and guests Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Ishaan Khatter, Neha Dhupia, Soha Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon (also featured in a special film song), among others. Producer Karan Johar also made a flamboyant appearance (you expected a subtlety?). For the screening, Alia Bhatt opted for an oversized white suit, which she badociated with a minimum of accessories and a dazzling smile. Janhvi appeared to have opted for a black floral print outfit while Khushi was dressed in. A colorful t-shirt with jeans. Meanwhile, Anjini Dhawan and his grandfather Anil Dhawan represented Varun at the screening, which is Anil Dhawan's nephew.
actress Kriti Sanon, Kalank's song Aire Gaire arrived with a happy face at the screening. Karan Johar also invited his close friend Neha Dhupia, who shared relations with Soha Ali Khan and Sophie Choudry.
Kalank is the story of Roop (Alia Bhatt) who falls in love with Zafar (Varun Dhawan) after marrying a Dev Chaudhry (Aditya Roy Kapur) is married to Satya (Sonakshi Sinha) .The film takes place in the 1940s and uses the backdrop of the partition of India in the plot.
