Extracts From Conversation:

Q: What does it make to play? Rani of Jhansi on small screen?

The history of Laxmibai is epic and I feel privileged to be part of this show. It's a dream role for any actor and I hope I'll justify myself. Since I have never played sports, it was a challenge to prepare for this powerful character. I have worked hard to learn riding, fighting at the sword and hands free.

Q: Kangana Ranaut's manikarnika is still fresh. the spirit of the public. Do you think your show will face the pressure of comparison?

It would be an honor to be compared to Kangana. She is a legend and my favorite actor. We are both underdogs of the industry and his journey inspires me. In addition, she is a fabulous actor and plays any role so easily. I loved the movie but our show is much more than the fight for independence. We will also focus on Laxmibai as a social reformer and how she fought domestic politics in her in-laws' family. I watched Manikarnika and that only motivated me to do better. But it was a three-hour film, our show would be long-term and deepen other aspects of its history. So, the two are very different.

Q: They say that historical series are an excellent source of education for people. What do you think about this?

More than education, this show will be a source of inspiration. Once you know such stories, you automatically become more intrigued. It's an important tale. In an age of patriarchy, this extraordinary woman came out of the cage and fought for the freedom of her country

Q: You have been working in the television industry for eight years now. Have you ever missed having a normal childhood?

Not at all. I do not think I'll have it any other way. I love my job. And when I do not shoot, I'm like any other normal girl. My parents and close friends keep me on the ground and provide me with the usual life. But I'm lucky that at such a young age, I can meet so many people, interact and learn from them.

Q: Have you ever been taken for a ride because of your age?

This has not happened yet. I think I've always been appreciated for my roles. I think the respect comes from your professionalism. And I am treated as an equal on all fronts of work.

Q: Do you think social media is a scourge or blessing these days?

That's definitely a good thing. I recently became the world's most followed celebrity on the Like application. It's amazing to have a very large number of followers. But it's very important how you use the platform. I may be an actor but through social media, I always connect to my fans on a personal level.

From February 11th, Khoob Ladee Mardani … Jhansi Ki Rani will be broadcast from Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm on Colors.
