The Entertainment Journalists Guild boycotted the actor Kangana Ranaut for criticizing a reporter at a press meeting devoted to her new film Judgmentall Hai Kya. The Press Club of India supported the guild's decision.
Kangana Ranaut, however, refused to apologize to the journalist.
ThePrint asks : Is the Indian media unfair to Kangana Ranaut? ] In a film industry dedicated to commercial success, Kangana Ranaut does not need anything else.
Kaveree Bamzai
Senior Journalist
Kangana Ranaut asked a section of the media she considers "deshdrohis" and "bikau" to ban it. They should listen to it. Stars such as Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan have survived for many years despite hostile media relations. In the opinion of all, she can too.
She has talent, she works hard and she has many fans who can not wait to see her on the screen. In a film industry that boasts commercial success, it does not need anything else. She also has a fierce protective sister who refuses to let anyone get away with less than full recognition of her work.
If his films are good, they will work at the counter. If not, they will not be. It does not need to blame an enemy and the media have every right to protest against its description of these and its doubt about their motives.
There are enough alternatives to the social media era for them to communicate their views on each other directly to viewers. In what may be a long career for Kangana Ranaut and her critics, they could become friends again.
As a politician, Kangana Ranaut mastered the art of becoming history by stirring up controversy
Shivam Vij
Editor-in-Chief, ThePrint [19659012] The Indian media are very unfair to Kangana Ranaut. The fair treatment accorded to a woman advertising like it is to ignore it. That would be right. Who is Kangana Ranaut? Why does this category B player get the desired mileage from the media by creating controversy before each film?
As a politician, Kangana Ranaut has mastered the art of becoming history by stirring up controversy. In addition, Kangana Ranaut occupies your mental space and you are forced to learn more about her upcoming film. The 2014 film Queen was the pinnacle of his career. She has not had a big movie since. Kangana thinks that she can get people to talk about her movies by talking about her. She is wrong.
In the months and years to come, Kangana will create even more controversy. As her acting career is not going anywhere, she has two options. She could play politics or become Rakhi Sawant (no offense to Rakhi Sawant, who is more honest with herself than Kangana). Whichever option is chosen, the media will continue to be more than fair to her, dancing on her air, giving her all the attention that she is looking for.
Kangana has already become a celebrity who is not known for his films but for his films. being Kangana, it would not have been possible without the media.

Boycotter Kangana Ranaut can be a little hard. but she deserves full reaction
Madhavi Pothukuchi
Senior Web Editor, ThePrint
Kangana Ranaut seems to have sunk into the sensational herself without good reason. The video of her argument with a reporter clearly shows that she started the fight – accusing her of leading a "smear campaign" after criticizing her film Manikarnika. After offending the journalist, she decided to attack the entire media sector. Again, without good reason.
It's a sad fact, while Kangana Ranaut used to gather a lot of support for saying and doing the right things in an industry that rarely defends a cause. She upset things for the fraternity so fixed in its toxic habits.
But now, Kangana Ranaut seems to be turning into a caricature of herself. The boycotter may be a bit hard, but the negative reaction is deserved and, in a way, predictable.
The media is usually penalized (and rightly so in some cases) for many things. But this kind of insane attack against a journalist who does his job is a bit out of order. It should be lingered, as it is common for Bollywood to slap the media whenever it sees fit.

Kangana. Ranaut calls journalists "nationalists", which is symptomatic of the time
Shauryavardhan Sharma
Trainee, ThePrint
A journalist striking at the front, who asks valid questions, shouting at them, and trying to put your own version of events as the only "truth" is symptomatic of the present time.
When Kangana Ranaut calls an "anti-national" media section that threatens to destroy the social and cultural fabric of India, it only follows the general political trend of qualifying any dissent or uncomfortable question "anti-national".
In recent years, media coverage has become everyone's favorite pastime, and unfortunately, much of the media has not resisted.
This time, however, the Indian media set up a united front and denounced the rude behavior of Kangana Ranaut. I am quite willing to support the boycott of the actor.
We hope that Kangana Ranaut will devote some of her energy to calling the real "professional trolls". It would be a welcome change.
