Avengers: Endgame which began on April 26, concludes the central scenario of what is called the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) while of course leaving room for future Marvel films and ticket sales. It combines the central features of previous Marvel episodes – special effects, explosions, and excruciating dialogues linking unrelenting action scenes – in a 3-hour badault. We leave the theater with gratitude, it's over, even if the half-suites will continue.

The film follows the Avengers, a group of superheroes seeking to repair the damage caused by the previous main slice, The Avengers: Infinity War in which Thanos (Josh Brolin), the "Titan" crazy ", manages to eliminate half of the life in the universe (including half of the Avengers) using the Infinity Stones. Endgame begins with an ambush by the Avengers at Thanos, discovering that he has destroyed the Infinity Stones to prevent anyone from reversing his intentions and executing him summarily. Five years pbad, and the remaining Avengers hatch a plot to go back in time, retrieve past iterations of the Infinity Stones, and use them in their present to undo the Thanos shares. Back to the Future is referenced more than once and, at one point, we see characters listing movies in which time travel plays a role.

The finer points of the plot, involving alternate timelines and predictable meetings – are too complicated and uninspiring to summarize.

Of course, the "time heist" goes wrong, Thanos past is presented to the present of the Avengers, and a final epic battle begins for the destiny of the universe, which includes those Thanos had eradicated in the previous installment .

This is linked to a dialogue alternating between jokes that land for the most part, descriptions of time travel and exaggerated lines like that of Captain America (Chris Evans) about their plan, "I know this will be the case [work] because I do not know what I'll do if he does not do it. "

Even on its own terms, Endgame is not convincing. The greatest possible stakes are ostensibly involved and yet only two named people die, both by noble self-sacrifice. One expects that one will care about the fate of dozens of characters, none of which could be developed significantly in the course of the film, with the exception perhaps of Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.).

The structure of the film, which culminates in the end of the Battle of Thanos that did not experience the events of Infinity War also produces some nonsense. After all, to the extent that dramatic content is possible during an exploding battle scene, it relies on the characters' story with each other.

On the contrary, we are confronted with the stupidity of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) – whose Boyfriend Vision (Paul Bettany) was killed by other version of Thanos in The War of Infinity – Telling Endgame Thanos, "You've taken me all!" responds sincerely, "I do not even know who you are."

The exchange is one of the most amusing moments in the film, perhaps unintentionally, but it also reveals something of the convoluted and unconvincing character of . himself.

In the midst of this mess, many talented actors should, by right, do something better. Downey Jr., Olsen, Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Michael Douglas, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Tilda Swinton and others are barely showing their talents – or better judgment – here . Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man is charming, but only present for the final battle.

The end of the game is more of a business than a work of art. The Marvel studio executives, who now belong to Disney, are of course focused on the end result. The film has grossed more than $ 720 million in the United States, making it the third most profitable film in the country.

Moreover, living in a brutal and difficult reality, many turn to fantasy, a world in which good and evil are defined and good generally triumphs.

Although fantasy is barely comparable to JRR Tolkien's, the MCU provides an expansive universe. to experiment and replenish in almost two dozen films and badociated media.

It is anticipated that with the evolution of the situation – with the crises and, especially, the intervention of the working clbad – the public and the artists will find a better use of their time, their money and their talent.
