Avengers: The end of the game is only $ 171 million behind Avatar.
Last weekend was bittersweet for the Marvel Studios . . The film grossed $ 29.9 million on its fourth weekend and surpbaded James Cameron Avatar at the US box office, becoming the second most profitable film of all time behind (but far in terms of collections) Star Wars: The Revival of the Force ($ 936.6 million). But was dethroned by the arrival of Baba Yaga, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum ($ 56.8 million). The epic superhero lost its number spot for the first time since its release on the third installment of the John Wick franchise.
While Avengers: Endgame took over Avatar at the American box office, it is difficult to do the same at the global box office. The James Cameron masterpiece, released in 2009, had wreaked havoc on the global box office and raised $ 2.788 billion, of which more than $ 2 billion came from foreign markets. After the sensational opening around the world, it seemed that Avengers: Endgame would be the only film that would break the all-time record of Avatar, but in its four weeks until now, the superhero blockbuster has slowed down a bit.
With $ 2.61 billion, Avengers: Endgame has more than $ 171 million to lose Avatar to the world box office to become the film the more profitable of all time. But it seems difficult now for the film to achieve such a feat.
Over the days, as it seems dubious to the Avengers: Endgame to beat Avatar at the global box office, Marvel fans have now launched #BeatAvatar and the #WatchEndgame campaign on social networks. Check out some of the tweets below:
The film still wins money at the box office, but wait to see if Avengers: Endgame has enough fuel for pbad Avatar at the box office world or not.
At the Indian box office, the film grossed more than 360 crore (official figures expected).
