Despite the secrecy surrounding the film, a 1.2-gigabyte torrent of the film had leaked before it was released.
According to TorrentFreak, the leak appears to have been filmed in Chinese cinema and began to be shared on peer-to-peer hacking networks.
The illegally recorded film, which went live on Wednesday, April 25, between 4 pm and 5 pm local time, has since been downloaded to English torrents.
The film was released in the UK on Wednesday, April 25 and in the US on Thursday, April 26 – with screenings at midnight around the world.

According to Torrentleak, the film is of poor quality, partially filmed and riddled with watermarks for a gaming site. [19659012] The audio for the stream, which is illegal to download and watch, is also described as "poor".
Torrentleak also explained that a second copy of Endgame, of better quality, was distributed, sponsored by the Russian betting company 1XBet.
Excerpts from the film can also be viewed on Instagram, with a huge scene being an integral part of the plot filmed from an English-language cinema.
