Avengers Endgame: No Thanos but the Avengers have turned half of the universe into dust?

"I could snap my fingers, and you'd all stop," Thanos told the Avengers about decimation and its ability to do it in a snap of fingers . However, Marvel fans were certain that the Mad Titan will not be able to defeat the Earth's most powerful heroes, but to their dismay, Thanos has broken down and half of the Universe it's turned into dust.

Approaching the release of Avengers: Endgame a fan juxtaposes the events of Infinity War and concludes that it is possible that these are the Avengers and not Thanos that have really wiped out half the population of the universe.

In a Reddit thread, the fan writes that the decimation took place before "Thanos arrives on Earth, in fact before the battle of Wakanda prays one. According to fan theory, Thanos did not kill anyone, but before it could crash, half of the population was already teleported to an alternate universe. By validating the theory, the fan explains the post-credit scene at the end of Infinity War, where Maria Hill and Nick Fury learn that the Thanos fleet has entered Wakanda and that after a few minutes, they both transform in ashes.

So it is possible that the Avengers had an idea how things were going to unfold and, therefore, they planned the breakdown by sending the population into another dimension. The theory goes on to say that Avengers Endgame will conclude two great theories of fans. First, the snap destroys the glove of the infinite and secondly, establishes a connection of a quantum realm between the Avengers and several universes.
