Directors Joe and Anthony Russo said their next movie, Avengers: Endgame, had been tested several times and lasted about three hours. As a comparison, Avengers: Infinity War scored 149 minutes (about two and a half hours, including credits, for which everyone stays behind).

Joe Russo told Collider in a recent interview that he was "always at the mark of three hours. He did not give any other details if the film could be cut in the weeks before it was released. He said that the studio was satisfied with the film's turn and had heard positive testimonials from the audience.

"I think the studio has lost its best story," he said. "For now, we think the film is playing well and we had great answers from our test audience. We feel very good about where he is. We are still working on it. We are not finished. Once again, it's a movie that ends in 22 films, it's a lot to tell. The emotion is an intrinsic part of that for us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want to live emotional moments with the characters, you only need a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, looks like three hours of real estate. "

Anthony Russo had a funny observation from the screenings. "We have watched the film four times for the public," he said. "For the first three screenings, not one person got up to go to the bathroom."

This is not the first time the Russo talk about the long life of the film. In November, Joe said in a live video on Instagram: "The broadcast time of Avengers 4 is currently set at three o'clock." He admitted that he did not know if the final movie would be that long. "We'll see if that holds, but he's sitting at three now," he added.

"It is very likely that the film runs after about three hours," said Joe to Empire Magazine in December. "It's a great movie with a lot of history."

Avengers: Endgame is the fourth most anticipated film in the Avengers series and the 22nd in the Marvel film universe. The film will resume after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which ended with the cancellation of half of the population of the universe by the evil Thanos. The latest trailer of the film, released during the Super Bowl, showed survivors picking up the pieces and preparing for the war. The release of Endgame is scheduled for April.
