Avengers: Endgame – Why Disney + Should Give Us a Miniseries From Agent Carter

Avengers: Endgame is the triumphant culmination of more than 10 years of storytelling within the MCU, with "an appropriate and surprisingly poetic gain," according to our review. It has also become the fastest film of all time to reach $ 1 billion at the global box office, proving once again that superhero fatigue is a myth. And while these epic stages are impressive, Endgame has also found time to honor many MCU support characters, some of whom may have a new lease on the Disney + streaming service when it was launched on November 12th.

Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is one of those characters that would be perfect for a new Marvel series on Disney +. In 2016, ABC canceled Agent Carter after just two seasons. However, in a surprising (and confusing) time travel, Endgame gave Steve Rogers (A.K.A. Captain America) and Peggy a second chance to love. Their subsequent meeting opens exciting new possibilities for a new series. Here's why we think that a revival series of Agent Carter would suit Disney + perfectly.

Time Travel, Love and Family

In a recent interview, the Russo brothers explained the implications of Captain America's time choices in Endgame. and the effects they could have on the MCU. "If Cape was to go back to the past and live there, it would create a ramified reality," said Joe Russo at the site, "so the question is, how can he come back into this reality to give the shield [to Falcon at the end of the film]?" The Russo say then that the plot of Cape Town has not yet been revealed and that there may be a story, "according to Joe Russo.

The unpublished story involving the relationship Steve and Peggy would make a compelling story for a miniseries, as it is unlikely that Peggy will receive his own feature film.And if the explanation of the trendy reality of Cap by the Russos is true, there is another narrative track to explore: Peggy's life in the privileged "timeline" involving his work with SHIELD (or even how it might evolve once Steve returns to his life in the alternative chronology).

In Endgame, we glimpse Peggy working for SHIELD in 1970 while S teve and Tony are looking for Tesseract and SHIELD's connection to Hydra. It would be interesting to determine whether or not Peggy knew that the agency had been compromised. There is also much to discover about Peggy's husband and children in the main timeline. Of course, Cape is his only true love, but watching Peggy cope with Steve's death and moving on to something else in his life is another intriguing story that deserves to be pursued. Anyway, both realities are ripe and it is possible other episodes with Agent Carter.

Miniseries Against Several Seasons

Regarding formatting, an episode of 6 to 8 miniseries would work better, facilitating the acquisition of renowned talents such as Chris Evans. Disney + is already using this method for its next series of other limited Marvel series: Loki, WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye.

The limited series approach also gives the studio more flexibility in storytelling. In theory, Disney + could have several Peggy Carter shows in different realities – Disney + has already announced an animated series "What If" with the first episode exploring another reality where Peggy receives the serum of super soldier in place of Steve Rogers, with Atwell.

While it's nice to see Peggy and Steve finally having their long-awaited dance in Endgame, we think there are many more chapters to explore in Peggy Carter's story. .
