Warner Bros. has announced three new release dates for DC Comics adaptations in 2021, including Planet of the Apes performer-director Matt Reeves, on a Batman solo movie, a gentle restart of Suicide Squad of the Guardians of the Galaxy writer- director James Gunn, and the animated DC Super Pets who, rumored to have been announced for the first time last August. The last of these, DC Super Pets, will arrive first on May 21, 2021, followed by The Batman – less Ben Affleck, and focus on a young Bruce Wayne – June 25, 2021, and The Suicide Squad on August 6. 2021.
Deadline announced the new development of The Batman, claiming that Reeves would look for a new star to play the Dark Knight. Affleck abandons the role he played in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide. Squad and Justice League – because he "knew that it was not the right one for this particular version". Even though the deadline indicates that Wayne will be younger, it is not clear what exactly that means. The sources of Variety say that Reeves wants a person in his mid-twenties, while Warner Bros. wants a person "a little older".

Reeves was hired by Warner Bros. will be starring The Batman in early 2017 – almost two years ago – after Affleck has fled and his role in the lead role has been on the fly ever since. In an interview in November 2017 before the release of the Justice League, Affleck said he "wanted to find a stylish and cool way to get out of it." That does not seem likely at this point, although Warner Bros. did not tell him anything officially, Reeves could incorporate it and make sure that Affleck pbades the torch to the next Batman. Reeves will also produce with Dylan Clark (Planet of the Apes).

Gunn was officially announced as a writer for Suicide Squad 2 in October, which is supposed to be a soft restart. given the title: The Suicide Squad. Deadline says the film will feature new actors and characters, which makes things interesting, given that Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is still present elsewhere in the confusing universe of the DC movie. Gunn is still in talks, with Charles Roven (Justice League, BvS) and Peter Safran (The Conjuring) as producers.
This leaves DC Super Pets, a pet-friendly family entry of various DC characters. Jared Stern (Lego Batman Movie) and Sam Levine (Freaks and Geeks) are staged as directors, producing Patty Hicks. Warner Bros. is so proactive with release dates that the three movies – The Batman, The Suicide Squad and DC Super Pets – are currently the only movies on their respective weekends.
In front of them, we have Shazam! in April 2019, the Joker Autonomous of October 2019, the Birds of Prey in February 2020 and the Wonder Woman 1984 in June 2020. The Autonomous Flash movie would also have been scheduled for 2021, but it could still land in 2021 considering of Warner Bros. Brothers have not named any film for two additional release dates: July 16, 2021 and October 1, 2021.
