BENGALURU: A 48-year-old film and financial distributor died after losing control of his sports bike at full speed, struck a sign and hit the wall of a Cunningham Road apartment on Sunday night.
Ajay Chandani, a resident of Abshot Layout in Vasantnagar, had left the house with his brand new Suzuki V Strom 650 XT Rs 7.5-lakh bike.
At approximately 6:30 pm, as he was crossing Cunningham Road near Hoodi Apartments, he lost control of his bike at high speed while negotiating a minor bend and hit the left panel. The bike was thrown into the air and crashed against the outside wall of the apartment, throwing Ajay to the ground.
Pbadersby alerted the High Grounds traffic police who rushed to the scene. Ajay was transferred to Jain Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The police first thought it was a flying shot that went wrong, but later she said it was because of the speed. Police said that there were no street lights instead of the accident.
Son of the late Pal Chandani, one of the largest Hindi film distributors in Bengaluru, Ajay is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Producer A Ganesh told TOI that Ajay and his father were financing films and were major distributors of Hindi films in Karnataka.
