The Big Three is the top three end of the year, which has happened in 2014.
With Novak Djokovic in first place, Rafael Nadal in second place and Roger Federer in third place on Monday., this trio of tennis greats is leading the final standings of the season for ATP for the seventh time
This is the first time that each of these three men has spent some time at No. 1 in the same year.The seven changes have been the most important since 1999. In 1965, Djokovic won Wimbledon and the US Open, Tan say that Federer took the Australian Open and Nadal won the title at French Open.
They represented for the numbers 1 to 3 of the final ranking in 2007-2011 and in 2014 also.
For Djokovic, it is the fifth time that he closes the year at the top of the ranking, after 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. Only Pete Sampras, with six arrivals no 1 at the end of the year, did it more often.
This 31-year-old Serb is also the oldest man to be No. 1 at the end of the season and the first to finish top of the table. after being out of the top 20 during the year – or out of the top 10 at the end of the previous year (he was # 12 in 2017).
Simona Halep finished the season at No. 1 in the WTA rankings for the second year in a row; she landed this place more than a month ago. Angelique Kerber was the second woman, followed by Caroline Wozniacki, Elina Svitolina and Naomi Osaka.
Djokovic doubled Nadal three weeks ago. The Spaniard competed nowhere after stopping, because of a painful right knee, in his semifinal in the United States, in September, against Juan Martin del Potro. Nadal underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle this month.
Nadal finished a season at No. 1 or No. 2 for the tenth time, only ahead of Federer's 11th.
Federer, meanwhile, is in the top end of the year three for a record 14th time. The Swiss, aged 37, won 20 Grand Slam titles, the largest number of men, followed by Nadal (17), Djokovic and Sampras retired with 14.
The rest of the top 10 of the ATP for 2018: No. 4 Alexander Zverev, No. 5 del Potro, No. 6 Kevin Anderson, No. 7 Marin Cilic, No. 8 Dominic Thiem, No. 9 Kei Nishikori and No. 10 John Isner.
Del Potro was the runner-up at the US Open, Anderson at Wimbledon, Cilic at the Australian and Thiem at the French Open
Neither Anderson nor Isner had never finished a year in the top 10, while del Potro is back in this group. for the first time since 2013.
