American screenwriter and filmmaker John Singleton died Monday in Los Angeles at the age of 51, his family said in a statement.
Singleton had been hospitalized about two weeks ago after suffering a stroke. Earlier Monday, his family had announced the deadline to deprive him of his life-saving treatment. "It was an atrocious decision, which our family took for several days with the thoughtful advice of John's doctors," said a family representative at the publication.
